We face a mountain of mental health challenges leading to homelessness, crime, and family trauma, which strains resources like our jails and ERs. Think about it: East Texas suffers from the highest suicide rate in the state — just one indicator of the severity of mental illness in our region.
Together, we are creating solutions.
The Andrews Center treats more than 10,000 underserved East Texans each year. Counties served include Smith, Henderson, Rains, Van Zandt, and Wood. As the local mental health authority, we collaborate with other governmental organizations, including law enforcement, area healthcare providers, and other community groups to improve local mental health services and processes in East Texas.
