What is Supported Employment?

Supported Employment is a service provided for some consumers of the Andrews Center. If approved for the Supported Employment program our Job Coaches will meet with you to find out about your interests and abilities. They will then work with you to find a job in the area that matches those abilities and interests.

Once I get a job am I on my own?

No, Supported Employment is with you for the long haul. We will provide ongoing services such as: job coaching, on-the-job-training, and also help you with any problems you may be having with your new job.

What if that Job doesn't work out?

Our Job Coaches will work with you to find another job that is better suited to your abilities and interests.

Andrews Center - Help and HopeCan people with disabilities work?

Yes, we believe all people have the ability to work if they want to. If you have the desire to find a job, we will work with you to make that happen.

Where will I be working?

In the community. The purpose of supported employment is to help you find a regular paying job in the community. We will only place you in jobs that others in the community would have and that will pay you what it would pay others.

How can I get into the Supported Employment program?

You must be a registered consumer at the Andrews Center. Because space in our program is limited your case manager will need to submit a referral to our program.
