Emergency Crisis Services

Andrews Center provides 24 hour, 7 days a week crisis services. During the business week, Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, services are offered at each facility. The Screening, Intake and Triage staff or staff designated as crisis providers will provide a crisis assessment with appropriate referrals and/or intervention. No appointment is necessary for crisis services.

24 Hour Hotline

Andrews Center provides 24 hour, 7 days a week hotline services. The Center provides hotline services through contract with AVAIL solutions. The hotline staff will complete a telephone assessment of the situation and provide appropriate referral or intervention

Inpatient Treatment Referral Services

Andrews Center staff refer to local psychiatric hospitals as well as Rusk State and Terrell State Hospitals. Inpatient hospital services are intended to provide brief care and treatment aimed at stabilizing a patient with an acute mental condition, and to prepare the patient for referral to other Center services or to other resources outside the Center.

Mobile Crisis Outreach (MCOT)

A Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) is dispatched to remote locations deemed safe for onsite assessments. The team is dispatched through the crisis hotline. After business hours, weekends and holidays MCOT is provided by staff of AVAIL Solutions.

Crisis Respite HOPE House

The Hope House Crisis Respite Program is a 10-bed voluntary crisis respite center. The purpose of the center is to begin or continue the stabilization of clients who are or have been in a mental health crisis in recent days. Consumers are provided psychiatric, medication, and psychosocial services through Andrews Center. The length of stay is determined by the need and consumer compliance.
