What are day programming services?
Adult Day Training (ADT) located in Tyler and Adult Day Activity Center (ADAC) in Athens are programs designed to provide a place for adults with severe developmental disabilities to achieve their fullest potential. Training centers focus on areas of adaptive living and behavioral/social skills.
Who can benefit from these programs?
Persons 18 and older and whose intellectual ability, adaptive behavior, psychiatric or physical condition may be helped by these programs are eligible.
What do these programs offer?
- Trainers with an excellant client ratio of 1 to 8 maximum
- ADT and ADAC provide supportive training developed to maximize each person's skills in daily living, communication and socialization
- Training is person centered, to attain the greatest degree of independence for each participant
- Our facilities are modern, safe and healthy environments that are wheelchair accessible
Who provides the services?
- An experienced degreed professional provides supervision for these programs
- Several experienced trainers that demonstrate an understanding of sensitivity to persons with disabilities
- Excellent trainer to client ratio of (1 to 8) maximum
When are services provided?
- The ADT program provides supportive training Monday thru Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Adult daycare services are offered from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday also
- ADAC provides supportive training Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
How do I get started?
- Family members, legal guardians or assigned staff may refer clients by calling 903.533.8047 or by emailing ADT for ADT and ADAC
- Once the developmental disability is identified, placement will be considered
- Fee for service is based on ability to pay. Funding may be available for clients with specific conditions
- Pre-placement visits may be arranged through the Unit Manager
