Consumer Benefits

Consumer Benefits staff provide assistance to appropriate Andrews Center consumers in accessing federal and state benefits.  This may include referrals to any applicable community-based resources.

 

Consumers may call:

 

Consumer Benefits assistance is provided to residents of Henderson, Rains, Smith, Van Zandt or Wood Counties.  Mentally disabled individuals who potentially meet Social Security Administration’s Listing of Impairments may be eligible to receive assistance.

 

Staff that are trained in Social Security Administration (SSA) rules and regulations may assist consumers in developing their case and processing a claim through to a favorable decision with the SSA.

 

Consumer Trust Fund Assistance

Trust Fund assistance is offered to help provide financial stability to consumers who receive Social Security benefits and have difficulty independently managing their financial affairs.

 

This assistance is offered to:

• Registered consumers
• Consumers who have a service coordinator/case manager
• Consumers who comply with treatment plans and skills training
• Consumers who keep all scheduled appointments
• Consumers from the following counties: Henderson, Rains, Smith, Van Zandt and Wood

The Social Security Administration may identify a consumer receiving Supplementary Security Income (SSI) and/or disability, survivors and retirement benefits as needing Trust Fund assistance.
